Richard Scott, Editor of Personal Care Magazine Europe, spoke with our CEO Jamie Bentley about the continued development of the soap industry and the challenges of working with natural products and legislation, in the November issue of the magazine.
"We got into speciality soap bases about twenty years ago, and the heritage of the business was around manufacturing soap for all sorts of different industries. But I think the most important thing we've seen certainly over the last ten years is that while the market for traditional bar soap has declined in the UK and to a certain degree in the US, it has actually created a niche at the top of the market for new, interesting products - whether that is built around sustainability or design/packaging. So although the market has declined, the market we serve - the niche and natural market, premium and boutique end - has increased."
