How to make a charcoal shaving soap

YOU WILL NEED:

• 1KG Crystal Triple Butter Melt & Pour
• 500G Translucent Base- we used Crystal Hemp Melt & Pour
• 10 drops peppermint essential oil
• 3TBSP powdered cosmetic grade charcoal
• Alcohol spray (IMS)
• 1TBSP vegetable glycerin
• 2TBSP kaolin clay

STEP 1

Chop 500G translucent soap base (we used Crystal Hemp) into a microwavable container and melt in a microwave on high for two minutes until fully melted.

STEP 2

Meanwhile mix three tablespoons powdered charcoal with one tablespoon rubbing alcohol and mix thoroughly.

STEP 3

Mix the charcoal mixture into the melted soap base.

STEP 4

Spray a flat silicone mould with alcohol spray and pour a thin layer (1cm deep), then spray again with the alcohol spray. Leave to set for around half an hour.

STEP 5

While the black soap sets, chop 1KG Crystal Triple Butter base and place in a microwavable container. Melt in a microwave on high for two minutes and in thirty second blasts until totally melted.

STEP 6

While the soap melts, mix two tablespoons of kaolin clay with one tablespoon glycerin.

STEP 7

Unmould the black soap while still a little soft- use the cookie cutters to cut out the moustache shapes and set aside.

STEP 8

When the Triple Butter base is melted, mix the kaolin clay and 10 drops of peppermint essential oil in.

STEP 9

Spray a small bar mould with alcohol spray. Pour a layer around half to three-quarters full and spray with alcohol spray. Allow the first layer to set for an hour.

STEP 10

Check if set- if so, spray the first layer with alcohol spray and place the moustache embeds on top. Pour a thin layer around the embeds, being careful not to cover the embed. Spray again and leave to set.
