From our dedicated facility in Horsforth, West Yorkshire, we manage our R&D, manufacturing, sales customer marketing and distribution services, ensuring complete control and continuity of our products and services.
Founded in Bradford, England in 1856, Stephenson originally manufactured soap-based agents for wool processing, along with furniture wax and polish products. As the market for wool processing changed in the 1960’s, the business diversified to develop new chemistries and innovations. It was in the late 1990’s that saw the introduction of Personal Care products and in particular vegetable soap bases. Stephenson is owned by Thos. Bentley & Son Ltd, where our CEO Jamie Bentley, is now the fifth generation of the family to be involved with the company.

Working alongside the Marketing Manager, you will be helping to lead the creative outputs across a wide range of projects - from initial planning through to final delivery and across a huge range of mediums: print, digital and video creation.
Day to day, you’ll be designing innovative, and imaginative applications for brochure campaigns, video content, photography, branding, presentation and exhibition design. Your responsibility will be to create high quality visuals in all formats to represent the brand and the product consistently. You’ll pick up projects and run with them - from initial ideas through to polished, print-ready artwork.
You’ll come up with concepts, marketing ideas and pitch those ideas to the board and more senior members of the business. There’ll also be an opportunity to travel - to exhibitions throughout Europe.
What We’re Looking For
As well as a passion for graphic design - we’re looking for someone who’s commercially aware and who understands how the marketing mix comes together. Someone who’s full of ideas and who can just as easily lend their creative eye to photography and/or video as they can to print or digital design.
This is a varied role - you need to be able to adapt well and take on projects that might be outside your comfort zone. You’ll have a commercial eye, an understanding of marketing as well as strong design sensibility.
Working collaboratively with other departments, you need to have clear communication skills - someone who can improve brand consistency through creative ideas and an approach to work that involves multiple disciplines.
