About The Role
You will perform a range of mechanical activities on a three-week shift rotation covering 24 hours per day, 5 days per week (core hours 37.5 hours per week). You will have excellent hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge and methodical fault-finding abilities to support continuous production performance carried out in a safe, controlled, and efficient manner. The key deliverable of the role is to drive forward the maintenance/technical standards across the SU operation.
Role Responsibilities
Site Maintenance – Carry out the planned maintenance, report defects found into the EHS system for trend analysis and planning of future jobs. Be involved in planned down time, delivering prioritised improvements and repairs. Routine running checks of plant and equipment, identifying and correcting where possible any defects on plant/ equipment. Refurbing of pumps and gear boxes. Support the wider office teams on infrastructure issues. Responsible for maintaining professional standards of housekeeping within the engineering workshop, plant mains room and the boiler house through a process of routine cleaning and organisation and involvement in the audit of these areas. Responsible for supporting GMP improvement activities. Responsible for supporting the delivery of site maintenance strategy. Support and deliver upskilling of operators and engineering apprentices. Support and carry out start up and shut down of plant and equipment. Fill in and manage external contractors when attending the site for routine maintenance and break down callouts. | 50% |
Operation Support – Attend to plant/ equipment breakdowns, always ensuring working safely, maintaining good housekeeping. Record breakdown details in the handover and ensure excellent communication between engineering shift teams, shift manager and engineering leader. You will be required to fault-find problems that have been highlighted by the operations team, this will include use of the HMI screens across site and to interrogate and record findings and feedback onto the EHS system. Attend RCA (root cause analysis meeting) and involvement in improvement projects. | 30% |
Project and Improvement Support – Carry out light fabrication work. Support day engineering and improvement teams on delivering new installations, with technical input and support of the completion of de-snagging works. Support on trials as/ when engineering works are required to enable innovation development. | 20% |

Skills & Competencies
You will have a proven track record as a Maintenance and a minimum of 3 years engineering experience.
You will have a flair for projects with the ability to work well within a project framework.
You will have the ability to identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities, an analytical thinker with people skills!
